This instrument can be used to find the absorption maxima ( ʎmax) of compounds that absorb in the ultraviolet –visible (UV-Vis) range, when used in the scanning mode. It can also be used to quantify compounds when using a fixed wavelength. The system has the limitation that only can be used for solutions of samples that are free of interferences from other compounds that absorb within the wavelengths of interested. Caution, the samples must be filtered to avoid interferences caused by solid particles.
