HPLC Agilent 1200 ALS, FLD, ELSD

High Performance Liquid Chromatography (HPLC) instruments are used for the analysis of non-volatile or thermally stable compounds. It is one of the most wide used instrumentation for the analysis pharmaceutical products, isolation of natural products, petrochemical industry, and compounds of environmental interest, among others. This instrument is equipped with a Evaporative Light Scattering  Detector(ELSD),  which is a sensitive universal detector and does not have the requirement of functional groups that absorb in wavelengths in the UV-Visible range, thus providing more flexibility than traditional fixed wavelengths detectors. It also equipped with a fluorescence detector (FD), which has increased limits of detection  (parts per billion range) when compared with traditional DAD or VWD detectors. In order to use the FD the analyte must have fluorescence (usually aromatic rigid compounds or inorganic complexes) or must be derivatized to introduce a functional group that can fluoresce.

Caution, samples must be filtered using a 0.45µm filters before injecting into the system; otherwise it will clog the lines and columns increasing the pressure causing system failure. The system must be rinsed with water and methanol to remove salts from buffers before turning the system off. Please refer to Good Laboratory Practice *  for more important information.

Please refer to safety rules for information on how to manage samples.I will comply with the laboratory safety rules and general laboratory procedures.
